Who We Are
AULAN
- Abusos Urbanísticos Levante Almeriense, No! - is the latest association to join the organised fight against
urban abuse of small property owners in Spain. AULAN is a non-political, non-profit-making association
with statutes and a steering committee that operates according to democratic principles.
AULAN will help members find out what steps they can take to protect their properties in a proactive manner. AULAN
will review complaints registered by its members and decide on suitable cases to champion, seeking to take matters before
relevant local officials and other bodies. Whether the problems relate to illegal construction, unsatisfactory completion
of contracts or other responsibilities, "land grab", corruption or other bureaucratic irregularities, AULAN
will seek to accompany its members through the resolution of their problems.
AULAN will try to keep abreast of planning developments in the area and press for a voice in decisions which could
substantially affect a number of members' properties. We will also attempt to investigate problematic projects.
AULAN believes in sustainable development and will fight against environmentally damaging projects.
AULAN will endeavour to work closely with the media, both local and international, to try to ensure regular coverage
of the cases we take up. Where appropriate, AULAN will cooperate with other like-minded associations
in Spain and press for the creation of a national body to represent its members at national and European levels.
